IT’S FINALLY HAPPENED!!! Invitation in the mail!

Forget my intense hate for capital letters, IT’S HAPPENING!!! I’m in, I’m in, I’m in. I’m leaving, I’m leaving, I’m leaving. It is cra-zay. I keep saying the most simple things over in my head and I am completely boggled. I don’t think it has completely hit me yet. I cried a little when I got the email from my placement officer, but definitely not as much as last wednesday when I was first contacted about being considered for placement (due to my complete lack of expectation of this). Dying, I am literally dying (okay not literally….)
I cannot stop wondering where I am going (and I thought I was going to get sleep tonight). I have a huge feeling it’s Mozambique for a few reasons, but honestly, it could be anywhere. Seriously though, how can the program be for late september/early october? Doesn’t it kind of have to be one or the other? That is where I get confused.
Anyways… I keep making all these lists in my head. Appointments to make, emails to send, things to buy, insurance to set up, JUST to name a few. I’m sure you will get a little taste of these lists in posts to come!

Hi Caitlin,

I received your reference earlier today. Many thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

Based on this information I have granted you placement clearance. Congratulations!

I will issue your invitation packet to you today so you can expect to receive it within the next 7-10 business days. As I mentioned, the packet will include information pertaining to your assignment, country and specific dates of service. Please be sure to read through the required readings before contacting our Office to officially accept your invitation.

I think you will be a strong asset to this program, Caitlin, so I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the invitation soon.

Congratulations and welcome to Peace Corps!

Regards,
A

As I said earlier… dying. Literally dying.
